Religious questions

Can we marry in St Peter's?

Many Catholics are interested in being married at St Peter's Basilica. If your priest lives in Rome, he can make the arrangements for you. Couples need to begin the process no more than six months and no less than four months before the intended wedding date.  There is much helpful advice on the website of the Church of Santa Susanna, home of the American Catholic Church in Rome.

Fiancés, whether Catholics or of other faiths, wishing to marry elsewhere in Rome or in Italy, are invited to visit the page on marriage guidance on the website of the British Embassy to Italy.
